Part of a series of "rest room" installations by Liss & Lake, a collaborative team working in site-specific performances and interventions. Here we set up a small tent in the Mills College Art Museum. The tent is furnished with a mattress, pillows, sheets, blankets, etc. Liss & Lake wear uniforms indicating the role as "rest coaches." The tent, the furnishings, and the uniforms are all shades of blue to create a calming and soothing environment. The public is invited to lie down, one person at a time, and rest between the coaches for a period of three minutes. A timer announces the end of the rest.
